  • Grading Certificate, Quality Assured

Every center diamond we sell comes with a grading report from an accredited gemological grading lab. For natural diamonds this is exclusively the GIA.

We apply standards and terminology consistent with the GIA to ensure clarity and ease of understanding.

  • Jewelry Environmental Graphic

    Minimizing Environmental Impact

All our diamonds are ethically sourced and we use recycled metals whenever possible. When sourcing, we also consider smaller suppliers who resell previously mined diamonds, which has a lower environmental impact than either mining new natural diamonds or growing new lab diamonds.

  • Beyond the 4 C's

Our industry high standards are more than surface level:

    • We exclude diamonds with Fluorescence, a trait that is often obscured but diminishes the look and value of diamonds.
    • We go beyond cut, considering symmetry, polish, and overall proportions to ensure you aren't paying for carat weight that detracts from a diamond's brilliance.

Common Questions

Why does a grading certificate matter?

Having a grading certificate for your diamond has numerous benefits:

  • Allows you to know exactly what you are getting in a way that can be easily verified and comes from an impartial 3rd party.
  • Allows you to easily compare one diamond with another, which can help in understanding pricing or allow you to ask questions that ensure you are getting a good deal.
  • It's an essential document for insuring your jewelry and can make the replacement process easier if you ever do lose or damage a piece.
  • If you ever re-sell your diamond, it will not only increase its value but let you have a better sense of fair value.

Why does using GIA standards and terminology matter?

The GIA is the most respected independent gemological grading lab in the industry. Their standards are the highest and most consistent.

Using GIA terminology and standards is part of our commitment to transparency. Many retailers create their own standards and use exaggerated terms for them, most notably Ideal Cut and other variations, many of which tend not to even meet the GIA standard for Excellent Cut while falsely implying they are better. It's a misleading and harmful industry practice.

What is Fluorescence?

Fluorescence is a diamond trait that effects the appearance of a diamond, as well as their value. If present it's rated on a scale of Faint to Very Strong. The more intense it is, the stronger its effect, which is more pronounced on higher graded diamonds and can lead them to look milky instead of clear and brilliant.

Why isn't Fluorescence indicated as prominently as the 4 C's?

Unfortunately, with the 4 C's ubiquity many retailers use obscurity of Fluorescence to their advantage. A diamond with Fluorescence almost always costs less than a diamond with comparable 4 C grades and no Fluorescence, the more intense the Fluorescence the bigger the price disparity. By not making consumers aware of this, retailers can:

  • Charge the same amount for a Fluorescent diamond as they would a non-Fluorescent one, increasing their profit.
  • Claim to offer a better price on a comparable diamond when they are actually selling a cheaper diamond that is not considered comparable when looking past the 4 C's.
